Nominations Are Being Accepted for the
Abydos 2009 Principal A+ Honor Roll
Abydos annually recognizes effective instructional leaders in schools across the state. Principals
selected will be honored at the 24th Annual Abydos Teachers’ and Trainers’ Conference, March 4-7,
2010, Hotel InterContinental, Houston, Texas. A listing of the winners will be published. Each principal
honored will receive recognition at a special event during the conference. Each principal selected to receive
the award must be present to accept.
The honoree's name, school, and school district will be listed on the 2009 Abydos Principal
A+Honor Roll and distributed at the conference.
Nominee must be a current principal.
Each nomination must be made by two people–one must be an Abydos trainer, the other may be any
instructional person from the campus of the nominee.
The Abydos trainer may or may not be from the nominee's campus/district.
Nominees may have already received the award previously, but criteria must be new, updated, and current
to warrant a second award.
Criteria for the Abydos Principal A+ Honor Roll
Category One: Implementation.
What has the principal done to ensure Abydos implementation?
How has the principal supported implementation? Provide evidence.
Category Two: Instructional Leadership.
What has the principal done to show leadership in relation to Abydos?
Provide evidence.
Category Three: Data.
What scores on assessment instruments support Category One or Two?
Deadline: All nominations must be postmarked on or before January 15, 2010.
All nominations must have the full names, addresses, e-mails (school and personal), and phone numbers
of nominees and of those nominating.
All nominations must have the full names, addresses, e-mails (school and personal), and phone numbers
of administrators and supervisors who are in direct contact with the nominee.
All nominations must have the full name, address, e-mails (school and personal), and phone number of
the site coordinator for the district of the nominee.
Any incomplete nominations will be immediately disqualified.
